We are happy to present Holland America Brothers as our USA/Canada partner since 2022. This brother-shop is based near New York, the Hamptons. We work together with the H.A.B. to cover North-America and Canada. Two nice young Dutch brothers representing the “old trade link” between Holland and the once good old America. The brothers find and sell restored 4×4 like this Defender:

These Defender trucks (as called in USA), must be imported first into America and Canada in the original (diesel-) fuel condition, followed converting to electric later.

It’s not the change that’s costly, but clinging to the old ways of burning fuel that really is.

We can start in 2026 worldwide with conversion points or hubs everywhere, so which party suits our impact-driven businesses? How to start a bottom-upworkplace discussions in green teams, specifically within government bodies?

Converting to electric has become a simple process with our ready-to-use kit. Every old-fashioned garage (shop) will notice that there are fewer fuel-powered cars to trade and maintain in your shop. That is/was your basic income. That is going to change rapidly. No more extra maintenance income as shops were used to with fuel cars. EVs no longer require maintenance. Why to change is nicely written below:

Use-value economy

These ideas are in line with those of thinkers such as dutch Triodos Bank economist Hans Stegeman, who last year wrote a thesis on the sustainable transformation of the economy: “Our capitalist economy is an ever-expanding system. If we do not set limits on that system, it will continue to cannibalise people and nature. And then it will eventually collapse of its own accord”.

FUNDING first batch of 25 cars/trucks

We are currently exploring various funding options to make this happen. These include (for example) a 25% deposit, leasing the set, crowdfunding, and financial support from the EU, Dutch funds and other foreign funds. We are certainly looking into production in other countries if funding can be secured from there. In that case, the production would consequently move out of the Netherlands. All the costly development work has been carried out in the Netherlands, and we are now focusing on producing the first batch. That can be done anywhere.

The unit cost then falls by about two-thirds if we produce 50 motors for 25 electric axles, (as two motors are used per car). The saving lies mainly in the fact that the costly machine set-up time and production slot (which must be reserved) can be spread across a much larger volume than just two units for 1 offroader. That makes all the difference. For 250 units, the cost reduction is three-quarters.

Profit figures already available for EV

Send the e-sets to you

We have decided not to become a garage (shop) in 2016, to carry out all the e-conversions. If we do, we would never be able to make a significant impact on nature. Imagine if all those hundreds of thousands of 4x4s had to come to the Netherlands first to be converted to EVs. That would be impossible. And generate a lot of emissions. Which is exactly what we want to avoid…

So we designed an ev-set in such a way that anyone can easily install it. We have a small laboratory in Den Helder, the Netherlands, where we “measure” any type (and car brands) of 4×4 and prepare a set for fitting. We can produce as many sets as machines can handle after measuring and we call it “tailormade”. We could also build a factory in other countries as factory 2 or 3, etc. If we can set up a factory on every continent, that’s when we’ll really make an impact.

Each country can then invest in its own e-Rovers factory to clean as many fuel 4×4 cars locally. That is our idea and approach. You then pay us a fee of €750 per set delivered. You set the selling price yourself – that’s our suggestion – for your area. Everyone is happy and it is good for impact and building a green industry locally.

Dealer-description for the conversion work

Here we show you step-by-step just how easy the conversion is, using our tried-and-tested method designed for swaping to e-Rovers. On the “About Us” page, you can read that we have been working on cars and boats making improvements since 1979. Hands-on.

So, you starting to place the 4×4 up as shown below, if the car has fixed axles. The second picture shows the case where the car has separate drive shafts.

Steps 1, 2, 3 and 4:

1. Dismantle the engine, gearbox, transfer box, radiator, the two differentials, etc. Old school work: the traditional dismantling of components. Remove all cooling elements such as radiator and hoses, fuel tank etc. Leave all shock absorbers on the car and the brakes attached to the chassis (rope) so that the brake fluid remains intact.

2. Clean the chassis thoroughly (perhaps also fit new upholstery). You mount our two new aluminium electric axles, bold to the original suspension that remains on the car.

3. You put back the original shock absorbers, brakes, brake calipers, ABS and (air-) springs back in place. They remain the same, which saves money, doesn’t it? You install the electric power steering and a the electric heat pump heating/cooling (we supply). This varies per car and is tailor-made.

4. Fit the (1 to 4) battery boxes under the car, connect them, charge them and test drive the vehicle the next day.

Tip: first remove the two axles, then you can lift out the engine with the three gearboxes attached in one go, or simply lower it to the ground. Bring it to the melter right away.

The converting work is done by 2 men/woman in about three days, especially if you get used to this work.

The picture above shows a modern Range Rover. (using separate drive shafts), which will need to be e-converted from hybrid or fuel in the future. During our design process, we noticed something else

Fit a brand-new diesel/fuel car with our EV-set. From existing large stocks Euro3 diesel/petrol Toyota Land Cruisers. What if we were to convert them straight away into new EV rugged Land Cruisers? How much would that cost? In one-go to electric for your goverments build around the corner.

a brand-new 4×4-car including our EV set, and the 400km/250miles long-range set. Costs around: €77.000 (ex.tax). And there are hundreds of them for sale brand new, as you can see below. This photo was taken in the Netherlands, but these new Land Cruisers are available for sale everywhere.

New Toyota’s above as new Land Rover Defenders below: a Chinese company is now offering a new aluminium body for a classic Land Rover 90/110 without a chassis for €8,500. A galvanised chassis (made in Europe) costs around €8,000.

In theory, we could then start to produce brand-new electrically powered offroaders/trucks and set up a factory in the Netherlands or elsewhere in Europe. An interesting idea, don’t you think?

Green calculations

We calculated that if only Dutch authorities continue to drive 4×4 diesel and petrol cars 1 year, these will release as much pollution as Tata Steel IJmuiden does in 1 year. That’s tonnes of emissions that can now be avoided.

Governments, take action against your polluting cars now, modify the car you already own. Change the drive system to EV; do not wait for the manufacturer.

The calculation of the emission: point to start is calculation of saved pollution per vehicle. Find out how much your old toxic fuel 4×4 car pollute. Then the calculations get all screwed up, because a new car needs earth materials, but so does an electric one. Then you have to make the battery once (or re-use we do), while a fuel car keeps burning fuel into toxic gases every day and for life, next 20 years ? That’s going to be complicated…

As a start: e-Rovers don’t make a new car. It’s already there. That fact already saves 2/3rds on materials upfront. We convert to it to EV which saves another 2/3rds using less energy. So a double 2/3 is saving. That’s 90% less polluting than making a new fuel car. A great profit in mining and using energy. Be upfront in fashion to change your car to EV.

We do more: we melt down almost 450 kg of metals to be re-used. Back to be used, no digging.

“How many toxins are we saving”? Many thousands of tonnes of emissions CO2, NOx, fine particulate matter, methane and lead? We cooperate with Greenreporting for example. To calculate more exactly the amount to save out per 4×4 car per year, multiplied by all the cars we are willing to convert. 250 every year or more.

Should we discard valuable 4×4 cars or re-use them? That is the question. We believe we know the answer: change the drive system, not the car, which is perfectly suitable for re-use for the next 30 years, electrically powered and clean. At least 2 million offroad vehicles are still on the road today, burning fuel in our clean air.

We are not new to this industry. We have been working on cleaner products for a long time; we did not just start converting 4x4s. Below are a few examples of projects we are/were directly involved in:
